HI all. Just moved here a few weeks ago and looking to make some friends. Wanted to say "howdy" and all that "happy" stuff...lol I am in the Kure Beach area, near Wilmington.

Hi! I'm sorta close to you- about an hour up the coast in another small beach town. I love Kure Beach though! How cool that you get to live there :)

It's new to me. I am from the land of concrete...lol I like that it is slower paced here.

Welcome!

I too am a transplant. I live in Newport near Morehead City. I am from Baltimore City, Maryland. I moved in November '06. We love it here. I knew that it would be different, but in a positive way. My son is now able to have freedoms that he could never have in the city. I feel confident that he is safer and he is allowed to rome with friends now. He is a teenager and I know that trouble is everywhere, still he is amazed at how things are so different. I love it because I get to see water every day! Things here are even closer to us than before. My only complaint is that there needs be more for our teenagers to do in order to keep them active and out of trouble. I plan to get involved in community efforts to help that along. Welcome again, don't be a stranger. I hope to get down to Wilmington this summer to look around. Marie
